There are NO RULES and if you're a rule bender like me, that is really rad news. That means you chart your own course with your elopement and don't settle for the boring, old traditional. You are the adventurous souls, the wild hearts always chasing life in your own unique way. There really is no right or wrong. So wearing pants, a jumpsuit, separates, a mini dress or a really beautiful wedding gown are all amazing options.
With that as context, there are some things you'll want to consider:
1. Elopements are generally more active than traditional weddings, so choose an elopement dress or outfit that allows you to move! Whether you're doing an adventure outdoor elopement or an urban/downtown one, you' re likely to be moving around much more than you would in a traditional wedding venue. Non traditional wedding dresses are a great fit to look into!
2. Often a wedding dress has a lot of structure and "body" to it that makes it harder to pack. Make your life easier by picking an elopement dress that travels in a suitcase or backpack with ease!
3. Some of my favorite outdoor elopement pics are when I'm able to catch the bride's dress (either the body of the dress or a cape) catching the wind. The action can be just stunning. So if that kind of "movement" is your thing, pick a dress that moves!
