Have an adult beverage before;)

A few pro tips for how to pose for engagement photos!!!

Yeah, I said it! Having an adult beverage pre-photoshoot, is sure to get you loose and comfy in front of the camera. It typically gets my couples giggly and in a space where they can be themselves! I will give a WARNING!! I am definitely not advocating for drinking and driving. BUTTTT!!. If you are doing an in-home couples photoshoot or possibly Ubering to your session location, then by all mean treat yo self!!

Make sure you choose a photographer you mesh with and who's style that resonates with you. To figure out how to pose in pictures, it's really important to vibe well with the photographer you pick.

Look at inspiration.

Just be yourself!

The good news is, there is a ton of inspiration for how to pose in pictures out there! I love to look at images before shoots myself, just to have ideas of how to pose couples during out session. Some of my favorite places to pull inspo from are Instagram, Pinterest and the Unscripted posing app.

You will have the best time if you just be yourself and embrace your unique personalities! Being yourself allows you to pose in pictures and make it feel authentic. If you and your honey are goofy and silly together, then show it! Capturing moments of people being themselves is the best!

Being in front of the camera can be scary, but don't let that stop you!

I know it’s hard putting yourself out there and getting in front of a camera! It makes you feel super vulnerable and if you are introverted getting in front of the camera can be a huge deal. The key to capturing amazing engagement images is a combination of a photographer you feel comfortable with and just being yourself on camera. Have fun with your partner. Engagement shoots are not meant to be stressful. Your engagement photos should capture you two in an honest, authentic and candid way. When you take the 4 simples steps I have laid out, you will be on your way to having a successful photoshoot and you can completely forget about how to pose for engagement pictures!
